Genetic Update Conference
February 7, 2017
AP Biology students got a wonderful opportunity Feb. 3 to learn about genomic studies during a field trip to the Genetic Update Conference held at Frisco High School.
The conference, led by genetic editor and speaker Sam Rhine and designed for high school students and teachers, was packed with the newest discoveries and applications in medical genetics, tissue engineering and human embryology that captivated the interest of aspiring STEM scholars, changing their lives and influencing their career decisions.
The students got packets of information with notes from the 444 slide powerpoint presentation to reference to in the future.
The conference was a stimulating experience for those interested in a biomedical path and for those just going along for the ride, as the information learned will help students throughout their lifetimes.
