Speech and Debate heads to State

On Friday and Saturday, five Titans competed at the UIL Regional Tournament for Speech and Debate and returned with spectacular results:

  • Senior Gary Frankel is the Regional Champion in Informative Speaking and is advancing to State for the fourth year in a row.
  • Junior Brian Lee is the Regional Champion in Persuasive Speaking and is advancing to State.
  • Sophomore Hamza Suhail won 2nd place in Persuasive Speaking and is advancing to State.
  • Freshman Nidhi Sonwalker is Top Speaker points in our region for Lincoln Douglas Debate.
  • Sophomore Taya Cherneko placed 3rd in her preliminary round in poetry.

 Congratulations to these fantastic students!
