FRISCO, TEXAS — The Music and Art Walk’s annual performance took place at Centennial High School’s campus on Nov. 21. In the afternoon, the school was brought to life by the beautiful performances presented by the Centennial Art, Choir, Drill Team, Dance, Orchestra, and Winter Guard programs.
“It is a community event to bring audiences together for musicians, singers, dancers, and artists and to collect donations for our community,” said Orchestra Director Mrs. Bell.
Each group worked tirelessly to achieve various successful productions to help fundraise goods for the organization LovePacs. This nonprofit group dedicates time and effort to making sure no kid goes hungry.
Originally planned to help six kids who would have gone without food during the weeklong Thanksgiving break, LovePacs has grown exponentially since its beginning. The organization has successfully acquired many non-perishable goods, such as instant oatmeal, microwaveable popcorn, canned fruits and vegetables, and many others, distributing food that aided over 8,100 kids in the 2022-2023 school year.
Various families and community members attended the event to support the program’s different performances, viewing the art galleries and dance performances, as well as listening to the beautiful music provided by the orchestra group. Many guests thoughtfully donated canned goods to help provide for the families in need, resulting in the 2024 Music and Art Walk becoming a great success.
