FRISCO, TEXAS The first mum ever wore to a football game was in 1911 in Missouri but moved to Texas in the 1930’s and became one of the biggest traditions of the school year. Homecoming weekend was an absolute blast and an exciting time, especially for freshmen.

Homecoming is a way of bringing Titans together. In addition to bringing the community together, it’s an amazing way to make memories and have fun with your friends. Freshmen were asked questions about Homecoming and how their week has been so far.

“It can definitely help us develop a lot of school spirit, like games and stuff like that. It is very good at involving our community with different things to support our school,” Freshman Victoria Mahuwe shared.

Many Titans attended the Homecoming game that took place at Kuykendall Stadium on Sept. 26. The varsity football team took home a win against Sherman, fueling school spirit. Students also proudly wore their mums and garters, showcasing the Texas tradition.

“I’m also excited for the game because I’m gonna be cheering there, and it’s gonna be very fun, and I am excited if we’re gonna win. Which I know we are.” Homecoming Court nominee Tiana Dennis shared.

Homecoming weekend at Centennial was more than a party; it was a chance to increase school spirit, create unforgettable memories, and bring the freshman community closer together. This year’s homecoming is one for the history books for the class of 2029!
