In case not everybody knows by now, this is the final season of American Idol. In just two weeks, the final winner will be crowned.

Hoping he can bring it full circle back to Texas is Sunnyvale’s own Dalton Rapattoni. The first title of “American Idol” was claimed by Burleson’s Kelly Clarkson, and now Rapattoni is hoping to be the bookend.

As one of the four finalists, Rapattoni got the chance to come to his hometown and perform for his closest fans on Saturday. The town of Sunnyvale, a short drive away in southeastern Dallas, honored him with a parade and dedicated March 26 as Dalton Rapattoni day. He also got lots of support from Rockwall’s School of Rock, where Rapattoni is a vocal coach.

In next Thursday’s semifinals he is facing LaPorsha Renae, Trent Harmon, and Mackenzie Bourg. Support North Texas’ newest celebrity by voting!
