B1 Community Event
October 16, 2017
The B1 Community Event for suicide prevention will be held Oct. 24 at the FISD administration building from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is hosted by FISD, Changes, and the Jason Foundation to educate how important it is for all of us to commit to “Being the One” for our friends, neighbors, teammates, classmates and family when they are struggling with depression and suicide ideation. The event will highlight that awareness and education are key to preventing youth suicide, the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-24.
Clark Flatt of the Jason Foundation will be the guest speaker and a FISD student panel will share their experiences with being the one for another person.
Students interested in the event should arrive at 5:15 p.m. to help set-up and greet community members. Students will receive a free T-shirt and will have the opportunity to earn volunteer hours.
It takes all of us committing to B1 to save lives!
