Grace Vanderwaal

Grace Vanderwaal has been a hit since she first stepped on stage on season 11 of America’s Got Talent. With her strong voice and powerful ukulele she captivated America. She went on to win her season, but her story doesn’t end there. However it’s Just The Beginning.

Grace has blown up since the show signing on with Syco Records and Columbia Records. On YouTube her first performance has been viewed over 70,000,000 times and on her YouTube channel she has over 1,000,000 subscribers.

Now she has released her first single. The single, Moonlight, was an interesting start to her music career. The song is unlike any other out there.

First of all the lyrics definitely have a deeper meaning which most songs now don’t. The story behind it is about a girl going through depression. This is a theme many Americans can relate to whether they went through it or they know someone who went through it. It is very poetic and well written. The course is catchy and will definitely get stuck in your head which is one of the most important things in making a song good. Also the lyrics complement her unique voice.

Her voice is what really sets her apart from most singers. It as an interesting sound that is hard to describe. The best way to put it is rough, but not in a bad way. It is definitely one of the best voices I have heard in awhile.

The video perfectly highlights the theme of the song. In many scene Grace is walking through empty streets. You can feel the pain and loneliness. But sometimes it would abruptly cut to a party with her singing and dancing strumming away at a banjo.

So take some time to listen to this song, it won’t disappoint.

Listen to it here.
