Centennial students participated in the University Interscholastic League Regional Tournament this past Friday and Saturday.

The Titan Speech, Debate and Interp team was awarded 2nd in Region and earned a shot at a wildcard spot for State. The team includes students Emily Peterson, Rhythm Garg, Devon Kelly, and Arham Siddiqui.

The students returned with a 2nd place finish in overall speech sweepstakes and three students headed to State in Austin, Texas.

In addition to Speech and Debate, Emily Peterson received 3rd individual in Computer Science and will be going to State, as well.

  • Gary Frankel, senior – Regional Champion in Informative Speaking
  • Brian Lee, junior – Regional Champion in Persuasive Speaking
  • Hamza Suhail, sophomore – 2nd place in Persuasive Speaking

  • Nidhi Sonwalker, freshman -Top Speaker points in Lincoln Douglas Debate
  • Taya Cherneko, sophomore– Placed 3rd in Poetry
