FRISCO, TEXAS ー Completing a practically perfect season, the Lady Titan Soccer team has wrapped up their term during the playoffs match on March 19, 2026. Beginning their pre-season in December of 2025, the titans have worked diligently to advance through the season earning a spot in the District Playoffs.
In one year the girls soccer team has majorly improved their record and stats moving a total of 117 places in state rank. Their rank reflects their hard work and continued dedication to improving each year.
“With the skill level in our district, we had to fight our way to a win each week,” shared senior Sienna Smith. “We always had to put in work and push ourselves past comfortable to be successful, which are all skills that can be applied off the field too.”
Their final game was one filled with ups and downs against Lone Star High School. It was a close match featuring a double overtime ending in one goal for Centennial and two goals for Lone Star. The atmosphere at the game was passionate, but there was tension in the audience due to frustration with match’s referees. Many members of the crowd felt some of the calls made were disputable.
With this being the final game of the season, this match was a goodbye to high school soccer for 11 members of the team. Many of the players have spent all four years on the Lady Titan Soccer team, making the conclusion of the season even more bittersweet.
Senior Eleni Arakas, current captain and veteran member, has grown in the program both in her skills and as a teammate. Along with her co-captains, Payton Mayfield and Sarah George, the trio has shown what true leadership looks like.
“I think the number one lesson that I am going to take away is to value your team more than anything,” said Arakas. “Win or lose we did it as a team and that was a huge testament to why we were so successful.”
Together, the team has a great bond that they use to their advantage not only on the field but as well as in their relationships off the field. This friendship has been the driving force in the success of their season.
This season has been a lesson in resilience and the power of striving for large goals. The Lady Titan Soccer team truly knows what it means to have Titan Pride.
