FRISCO, TEXAS –  When the bell rings, many creative students escape the stresses of schoolwork by going to Centennial’s Art Club. It is a curricular club that takes place every other Wednesday in room B120. Itis sponsored by Centennial art teacher, Chana Jayme. The club is open to all students and accepts members at any time.

Art Club provides students a chance to express their creativity outside of school, earn service hours, and contribute to the community.

“We not only prepare the decorations for Homecoming, sometimes we do window decorations… and then we also run a kids’ art community camp every winter,” Jayme shared.

Art has also been proven as a healthy stress relief strategy, and many people consider it a healthy hobby to pass the time. For those who are interested in a relaxing activity, Art Club is one option to pursue.

“[Art Club] is a good way to get your creative juices running,” Art Club President Zoey Marshall said. “Art is good for your brain, it makes you happy, and I think people will like it because it’s a fun thing to do.”

Art Club is a welcoming community where anyone can join, no matter if you are a beginner or already advanced. To join the art club, stop by room B120 to pick up a permission slip. If you have questions, you can email Ms. Jayme at [email protected]
