FRISCO, TEXASー From Jan. 15 to Jan. 17, Centennial’s theatre program performed its winter musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” over the course of five shows. Based on the popular comic strip,”Peanuts,” the production explores Charlie Brown and his friends’ life questions as they struggle through homework, baseball practice, crushes, and celebrate the beauty of friendship.
The original run of this show opened Off-Broadway in 1967 and grew in popularity, leading to countless productions around the country. The show would later go on to open a Tony award-winning revival in 1999 on Broadway at the Ambassador Theatre. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’s notoriety and success resulted in it becoming one of the most produced musicals ever.

Spending over four months preparing in and out of rehearsals, the Titan Theatre cast and crew put their heart and soul into making this show memorable. The process began in October, focused on staging scenes, memorizing lines, and choreographing dances. In December, technical elements were added, with final details being polished, and more focus on becoming show-ready happening in January.
This production is monumental for the senior cast members, as this will be their last main stage performance. Four-year Titan Theatre member Rohan Singh, who played Snoopy, shared,
“Compared to other shows I’ve done, this one was especially meaningful because of how small the six-person cast was. While I bonded with the entire cast, crew, and musicians, I formed a really deep connection with the five other actors I shared the stage with. Being part of such a small cast created a level of trust and closeness I’ve never experienced in a show before, and it’s something I’ll always carry with me.”
This bond was apparent on the main stage, where it was clear to all the amount of dedication put into this production. The set design was detailed and nuanced, while the live music was diligently rehearsed. All members of the cast put on realistic and passionate performances making this musical successful and enjoyable to all.
“Even in my final show, I was reminded of the incredible community we built in Titan Theatre and how strong our connections are with one another. It’s a community that will always have a special place in my heart, and this show in particular is one I know I’ll never forget,” shared Rohan Singh.
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown truly was a good musical.
