FRISCO, TEXAS ー Bruno Mars is nothing short of a defining pop artist in modern music. With decades of experience in the music industry, Mars has truly left his mark. With a short but record breaking discography, Mars has continued to improve with each album he’s dropped. On Feb. 27 Bruno Mars’ new addition to his discography, The Romantic, was released.

Featuring a nine-song track list, the album explores a mixture of Latin music and R&B combined with Mar’s classic sound from previous albums such as Doo-Wops & Hooligans. There’s no doubt that Mar’s builds off what he learns from prior work. This is seen through the many similarities on the track list to choices made in 24K Magic and most recently An Evening with Silk Sonic with Anderson Paak.

The instrumental throughout the album is truly well done. Mars has worked in collaboration with multiple musicians notably, Mariachi Los Criollos de Guadalajara, who are responsible for the prominent brass sound in The Romantic. It’s through this brass sound that the Latin vibe of the album is emphasized. For example, the instrumental break in the bridge on Risk It All, sets the tone for the remainder of the album.

Leading up to the album’s release Mars released the lead single, I Just Might on Jan.9. The track which garnered a lot of press, notably with the it’s strong debut at number on on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then I Just Might has received over 200 million streams and was performed at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The media and critics have been raving about the album leaving positive reviews.

The Romantic, features both ballads and upbeat tunes that flow well together. However one thing that remains the same is the romantic nature of the lyrics throughout the adequately named album. Bruno Mars is an artist who’s known his lyricism and its often heart wrenching nature. With nine out of nine songs once again showing Bruno’s passion for songwriting (and women).

It’s safe to say that The Romantic is another strong addition to Bruno Mars’ discography.
