Making a New Year’s resolution is a tradition all over the world. Many people try to start off the New Year with a fresh start and make goals to achieve. These goals include something the individual would like to improve on in their life. It opens a new door for that person and New Year’s day is the perfect time for a change.

While some are able to stick to their resolutions, others do not.

Carmen Van Cleave, Spanish teacher, said that she always makes some and ends up breaking them.  “[I chose] not to have a New Year’s resolution and to just have a great year,” she said.

Other teachers do plan to keep their resolutions.

“I plan to finish a book he had started a couple of months ago, said Cody Chamberlain, English teacher.

A popular resolution is losing weight.

Jamie Gillespy, American Sign Language teacher, plans to do just that.

“I want lose twenty pounds and to catch up on scrapbooking because I am still on the year 2013,” she said.
