My Chemical Romance is a staple of teenage rebellion. Every teenager that has ever had an embarrassing middle school phase listened to the rock band. The band dates back to 2001, when they released their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. However, their breakup in 2013 was the end of a 12 year journey, according to a letter the lead singer Gerard Way had written after the breakup. The letter also stated that while the band was done, it would never die.

Now, six years after the breakup, they’ve announced a reunion show for Dec. 20, 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. This information broke the internet with over 260,000 Twitter users tweeting about the reunion. Tickets went on sale 1PM on Nov 1, 2019 and sold out in about an hour.

The current line up for the band is the same as it was at the time of the breakup: Way as lead vocalist; Ray Toro as lead guitarist and backing vocalist; Frank Iero has rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist; Mikey Way as bassist; and James Dewees as keyboardist, backing vocalist, and percussionist.

After the tickets for their upcoming show sold out, the band thanked their fans on Twitter, saying “We truly did not expect this.”
