Ah, the long awaited summer vacation is just weeks away. Most have been anticipating this summer since last year’s ended, but now that it’s here, what is there to do? Although some may have a getaway vacation already planned, here is a list of activities to do locally with friends, family, or even just for some time alone.

Visit the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens in Dallas, TX

At the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, you will be able to witness some extraordinary and beautiful arrangements of flowers and other plants while enjoying a nice walk on a gorgeous nature trail. This is a common attraction in Dallas and highly ranked by Trip Advisor, so you can ensure that visiting will be worth while. And when you get hungry, you can grab a bight to eat there in the Arboretum, or you can drive right around a mile to dine at four star restaurants. Some recommendations are Dugg Burger, Cane Rosso White Rock, and Torchy’s Tacos. Here is the link to the Dallas Arboretum’s directory and anything else you want to know about the area.

Shop at the Shops of Legacy in Plano, TX

The Shops of Legacy offer a great selection of excellent clothing, accessory, and utility stores to shop and visit at. Some of the most popular stores are Kendra Scott, Urban Outfitters, and lululemon athletica. Once you’re done with shopping ’til you drop, make sure to check out the incredible cuisine found at every corner of the area. They offer food selections from bakery style dining to burger houses to delicious Mexican cuisine. Here is the link to the directory of every store, restaurant, and anything else found at the Shops of Legacy.

Attend a Rough Riders, Texas Rangers, or FC Dallas Game

Dallas has a wide variety of sports teams, and fortunately, three of them have games over the summer. Both the Rough Riders and FC Dallas teams are based here in Frisco, so don’t worry about the long drive into the Dallas area. Tickets are available now for all three teams and aren’t astronomically expensive. If you are interested in attending any team’s games, check in to their websites to find an open time for you to attend and secure your tickets/seats.

Hopefully these recommendations give you a good idea of what to do locally this summer. Enjoy the time off!
